Accessibility

How we make your journey more accessible - both digitally and physically

Country road and blue sky from below

At Vy flygbussarna, we work to ensure that everyone can travel easily and safely - regardless of disability. We are adapting our services in accordance with the new Accessibility Directive (EuropeanAccessibilityAct), which comes into force in June 2025. This means that both our digital solutions and physical environments are designed to be accessible and user-friendly for as many people as possible.

Digital accessibility - website and mobile app

We develop our digital services in accordance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web ContentAccessibilityGuidelines). This means that we work to ensure that everyone - including people with disabilities - can use our website and app.

Here are some examples of what this means in practice:

  • Screen reader support: Our interfaces work with standard screen readers for people with visual impairments.
  • Clear contrast and adjustable text: Color contrasts are well thought out and text can be enlarged without losing functionality.
  • Mouse-free navigation: All content is accessible via keyboard or alternative controls.
  • Plain language: We write in clear, easy-to-understand language to make it easier for more people to access information.

We test our digital services on an ongoing basis to identify and address any barriers.

Accessibility in our physical environments

Boarding and travel

  • Our buses have a high floor and are accessed via steps, with handrails along the steps to facilitate boarding and alighting for people with reduced mobility.
  • All buses are equipped with seat belts.
  • Our guest hosts can assist with boarding to pack a wheelchair or walker along with luggage.
  • Our drivers will make announcements over the bus's loudspeaker upon arrival at the airport or disembarkation stops.
  • Assistance dogs are very welcome on board our buses. For the sake of allergy sufferers, we ask you to sit further back in the bus. Dogs need to travel in a cage.
  • Our drivers and customer service are trained in accessibility and in dealing with travelers with different needs.

Ticket purchase

  • We offer several channels for ticket purchase: via app, website, vending machines, ticket offices (in Gothenburg) and on board the bus, enabling us to provide service and information to our passengers in the form most suitable for the passenger.
  • Our ticket vending machines are equipped with clear written information and designed to be easy to use.
  • At Arlanda and Landvetter airports, guest hosts are available to assist with ticket purchases both from the machine and on board the bus.

Your rights and our responsibilities

The new Accessibility Directive strengthens your rights as a traveler. At the same time, it places demands on us as a public transport provider - demands we not only want to meet, but preferably exceed.
