What is a customer profile with us?
Creating a customer profile allows us to recognise you on any device. It also allows you to save your card details for future purchases.
Create and manage your customer profile
Creating a customer profile with us is easy.
To create a customer profile, we need the following personal data:
- Name: used to verify you as a user.
- Email: used to verify your user and to send out PDF files and receipts.
You can also provide additional, optional information that can help you have a better user experience, for example:
- Payment information: makes it easier for you when you pay for a service.
By creating your customer profile, we may use data such as name, email and payment information.
This is necessary for us to fulfil our contract with you for the creation, administration and use of your customer profile.
The legal basis for us to process your personal data is your consent.
Age limit
To create a customer profile, you must be at least 18 years of age, or have parental consent to enter into a contract with Vy.
What is the personal data used for?
The personal data is primarily used to provide you with services from Vy Flygbussarna, to provide you with good customer service or for refunds/compensation if you are entitled to it. Below is a list of different processing activities, and what data we may process for each activity:
Purchase and change of tickets
When you buy a ticket from us, we enter into a contract with you. To fulfil our part of the contract with you, we need information about you and what you have bought.
We may use information such as your name, email address, mobile phone number, customer number, payment information, and sales and travel history.
Sending you relevant travel information
We send out necessary information about your journey, such as your ticket and purchase receipt, for which we may use email or SMS messages. We do this to fulfil our contract with you and to meet our obligations under applicable passenger rights rules.
Sharing of personal data
We only share your personal data in the following cases:
- With third party service providers who perform tasks or work on behalf of or under the instructions of Vy Flygbussarna, and for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, such as system providers and payment service providers.
- With public authorities when required by law or enforceable decision of public authority.
We may also share aggregated data with our business partners and group companies to further develop our services and conduct analyses of such data.
Profiling
We also use the personal data to improve our services and marketing in order to offer you services that are customised to you, so that you get the best possible experience with us. We have a legitimate interest in doing this processing.
Storage and deletion of personal data
We do not keep your personal data longer than necessary. We keep your profile information as long as you have an active customer relationship with us. If you don't use your profile for two years, it is automatically anonymised.
Purchase and travel history is normally anonymised after two years. Vy flygbussarna has a legitimate interest in saving such data during the period in order to use it to make analyses for use in business development and to develop models that enable more targeted and relevant communication with customers.
Retention of information on purchase and travel history during this period is necessary to protect our interests in the event of a complaint.
We may also retain information beyond this where it is necessary to protect our interest in an ongoing complaint case or where we are obliged to do so under accounting and personal data reporting legislation
Customer records
Vy Buss AB commercial business area operates under two brands (Vy bus4you and Vy flygbussarna) working together. Therefore, we want to share your user information within the company to make it easier for you and us if you want to travel by, for example, airport bus and express bus.
